(Austin, TX) — A census-boosting organization is making a virtual tour of the state this week to encourage Texans to fill their census forms.
A spokesperson for Texas Counts says only about 56-percent of Texans have filled out the paperwork, making the state 40th in the nation. At stake is a share of 675-billion federal dollars that are going to be distributed to the states. The virtual tour comes to North Texas on Thursday.
People who don’t return their census forms can expect a visit from a masked and socially distanced census taker in August.
