(Denton, TX)  —  The University of North Texas is modifying its coronavirus testing procedures for student-athletes returning to the Denton campus.

The new procedure will be a nasal swab to see if a person has an active infection.  In the past, athletes were given a blood test for the virus.  UNT is waiting on results from 104 swab tests administered Monday.

A school official confirmed three athletic department staff members and one student-athlete have tested positive for the virus, and three football players tested positive for antibodies.
