(Stephenville, Tx) – Following the news that an Erath County employee had tested positive for COVID-19, Erath County Commissioner’s approved the payment of a $40,000 outstanding invoice for cleaning and disinfecting four county buildings.

The Stephenville Empire Tribune reports the employee who tested positive on July 2nd, had not been at work since the onset of symptoms and does not usually interact with the public.  The employee remains in isolation and affected co-workers were notified.

Erath County Judge Alfonso Campos said he was not at the commissioners meeting when they discussed the matter of disinfecting the county buildings and that the bill was paid from funds set aside for disasters.
