UIL Delays Some HS Football Games A Month

(Austin, TX) — Some Texas high school football games are being delayed a month.

The UIL announced Monday the first games for 5A and 6A districts will start September 24th instead of August 27th. Class 1A to 4A are still planning to start August 27th as scheduled. State championships for 1A to 4A will happen December 16th to 19th, while 5A and 6A start January 11th.

The delays are due to the coronavirus pandemic.
