Fort Worth Teen Recovering From Florida Lightning Strike

(Fort Worth, TX) — A 14-year-old from Fort Worth is recovering from a lightning strike in Florida.

Jacob Brewer and his family were vacationing in Siesta Key when a summer thunderstorm hit the beach last Thursday. Lightning hit him in the chest and traveled to his foot. A med student and a Sheriff’s Deputy performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and doctors say it saved the teen’s life.

Jacob is in the hospital in Tampa Bay, recovering from the experience. A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help Jacob’s family with expenses while they must remain in Florida.
