(Austin, TX) — Tesla is giving the green light to a new factory in Texas.
The one-billion-dollar Gigafactory in Austin will create at least five-thousand jobs in the area. The facility will focus on building the electric car company’s new Cybertruck pickup. Governor Greg Abbott said Tesla’s decision will keep the state’s economy strong and help create jobs. The car company is getting $61 million in tax breaks.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk posed for a picture with Gov Abbott as both men threw up the Hook’em Horns in front of a painting of the battle of the Alamo.
