(Dallas, TX) — A Dallas salon owner who refused to keep her business closed during the coronavirus pandemic shutdown is running for the Texas Senate.
Shelley Luther wants to represent Senate District 30, which spans many miles through North Texas including Parker, Palo Pinto, Erath, Wise, Young, Jack, Archer, Wichita and Denton counties.
Current state Senator Pat Fallon is the Republican nominee for former Congressman John Ratcliffe’s seat. Luther was given a week in jail after opening up Salon à la Mode in late April, but Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order changed and she was able to get out.
