American Airlines Planning 17K+ Furloughs In October

(Fort Worth, TX) — American Airlines is planning to furlough over 17,000 workers in October.

North Texas-based American announced the plans today with more than half being flight attendants and pilots. The airline blamed Congress’ failure to pass more coronavirus relief measures including extending a payroll support program.

American reported an over two-billion-dollar loss in the second quarter.
