(Fort Worth, TX) — Some firefighters from North Texas have gone to California to help fight the largest wildfire in the state’s history.
The strike team of firefighters from Flower Mound, Fort Worth and Arlington headed west on Friday and reached the staging area in northern California late on Sunday. A strike team includes five vehicles with about three firefighters each. More than 40 strike teams from Texas are in the Golden State.
The North Texas strike team will be on the job for two-weeks before returning home.
