(Fort Worth, TX) — Mayor Betsy Price is responding to a brief mention of Fort Worth in the first presidential debate.
Moderator Chris Wallace referred to the city as a “Republican-led” place with a spike in murders that can’t be blamed on Democratic leadership. Police records indicate murders and non-negligent homicides in Fort Worth are up 55-percent in the first nine months of 2020 over the same period last year.
Mayor Price says Wallace took these trends “out of context,” and says they’re worse in other major cities, including Dallas and Houston.
