(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth has a new Chief of Police, and he’s an inside hire.
City officials announced Monday that Deputy Police Chief Neil Noakes is their choice for the position. Noakes replaces outgoing Chief Ed Kraus. He’s worked for the Fort Worth PD since 2000, and has been deputy police chief since 2019. Noakes was one of two internal candidates on the list of six finalists named by the department. He has a master’s degree in criminal justice from TCU.
The new chief acknowledges a citizens’ police review board will be created.
