Birds Get Drunk On Fermented Berries In Fort Worth

Neighbors in the Fairmount area of Fort Worth have seen Cedar Waxwings acting disoriented and flying into windows. Turns out they got drunk after eating fermented berries. A state wildlife biologist says it’s actually pretty common, since the birds tend to overindulge. Thanks to their large livers, they don’t suffer any long-term effects.

The birds typically stick around until April.
