(Johnson County, Tx) – Two Johnson County towns are still struggling with water woes after last week’s winter blast.
The City of Keene has been without water since last Friday. Power outages led to issues with the water pumps and pipes freezing up. The city says the water supply should be fully restored by Tuesday afternoon, but it’ll take a few more days until the water is safe to drink. A Boil water notice will remain in effect until then. The city will distribute bottled water today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. (while supplies last) at the Keene Fire Department (201 W. Hillcrest St).
Godley residents are also under a Boil Water Notice. The city says they are experiencing extremely high rates of water usage throughout the city and it’s slowing the pressurization of the system. They have asked residents to limit consumption. Some residents posted on Facebook that they have been without water since Saturday.
