(Weatherford, Tx) – Parker County Chief Deputy Russ Authier has been chosen to fill the role of interim Sheriff, following the passing of Larry Fowler on Feb. 27th.
Parker County Commissioners voted 4-1 to appoint Authier at a special meeting Friday. Authier, a former Texas Ranger, will hold the sheriff’s post until the next general election in November 2022. The winner of that election will serve a two-year term.
Authier served as a Texas Ranger from 1994-2008 before joining the Parker County Sheriff’s Office as Chief Deputy in 2009.
