(Granbury, Tx) – Granbury ISD students and staff will keep wearing face masks through the end of the school year.

The Granbury School Board voted 4-3 Monday night to keep the mask requirements through May 20th.  Trustees did opt to lift mask requirements for outside school activities.  GISD did an online survey that showed a majority favored making masks optional, but ultimately opted to keep the requirement.

After Gov. Greg Abbott announced the end of the statewide mask mandate, the Texas Education Agency provided an option for school boards to decide for their districts.

Two other school districts in Hood County, Lipan and Tolar, have lifted the mask requirements.
