(Austin, Tx) – A North Texas Republican has introduced a bill to the State Legislature, to define what it is to be a native Texan.
District 30 State Senator Drew Springer’s resolution defines “native Texan” as anyone who was born in Texas or born to Texas residents that may be serving out of state in the military, provided they return to Texas within thirty days.
Springer says he felt the need to introduce the resolution because more people, specifically Californians, are moving to Texas and he wanted to end the debate over what qualifies a person to be a “native Texan.”
Springer lives in Muenster. He gained attention last election going up against Dallas Salon owner Shelly Luther for the wide spread District 30 seat includes all of Archer, Clay, Erath, Jack, Palo Pinto, Parker, Wichita, Wise and Young counties and portions of Collin and Denton.
