(Fort Worth, TX) — Lawyers on both sides are being granted more time to file motions in the upcoming trial of a former Fort Worth police officer for murder.
Aaron Dean is charged with murdering Atatiana Jefferson in her home in October 2019. Dean went to the home in response to a call about a door that was open in the middle of the night. He reportedly fired a single shot through a back window that struck and killed Jefferson, who was playing video games with her eight-year-old nephew.
Dean’s trial is scheduled to start in August.
