Wounded Burleson Police Officer Home From Hospital

(Burleson, TX) — The Burleson police officer who was shot and wounded on Wednesday morning is out of the hospital.

Officer Joshua Lott was released from John Peter-Smith Hospital on Thursday, one day after being shot several times.  Lott was hit in the chest and neck, but his protective vest saved his life.  A fleet of police cars escorted him home.  The suspect in the shooting, 39-year-old Jerry Don Elders, reportedly opened fire on Lott during a traffic stop.

Elders was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
