Fort Worth Officer Fatally Shoots Carjacking Suspect

(Fort Worth, TX) — Police are investigating after a Fort Worth officer fatally shot an armed carjacking suspect on Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded about 1:30 p.m. to the reported carjacking on Race Street near the Airport Freeway. The suspect ran away, but an officer chased him down. Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes says the suspect pulled a gun as the officer approached, and refused several commands to drop it. Noakes says the suspect aimed his gun at the officer, who shot him.

The suspect was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
