(Dallas, TX) — Economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas say the Texas economy is coming back strong after the end of the pandemic shutdowns.
The number of Texas jobs grew by 11-percent in March, well above the national average, and new unemployment claims are down in the state. Some industries, such as restaurants and hotels, aren’t finding enough employees as business recovers.
There are several reasons, such as ongoing fear of the virus, looking after kids whose schools still haven’t reopened, and excessive jobless benefits.
