(Fort Worth, TX) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott is extremely worried about fentanyl being smuggled across the southern border.
At a press conference held Thursday afternoon in Fort Worth, Abbott told reporters there’s already been 95 pounds of the drug seized at the border this year. The governor says DPS only seized eleven pounds last year. “Lives are at stake as dangerous drugs like fentanyl pour into our communities at an astonishing rate, and we must act now to crack down on this proliferation of this deadly drug,” said Governor Abbott.
He’s blaming the Biden Administration border policies for the problem.
