(Austin, TX) — The Texas state legislature is working to do something about illegal street racers and the crowds who gather to watch them.
Street racing has become a problem in parts of North Texas, resulting in damage, injuries, and deaths. Legislators are working to craft bills dealing with the problem and get them to Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk before the end of the session on Monday.
One of them, House Bill 23-15, would give police the authority to seize street racers’ vehicles, which could then be forfeited.
