(Dallas, TX) — Police agencies in North Texas say they will be out in force this holiday weekend to help keep drivers safe.
Officials said yesterday that officers would be stepping up traffic enforcement in the hopes of taking impaired drivers off the roadways. DWI penalties in Texas include jail time, a suspended driver’s license, and up to $20,000 in fines.
Police say they will be visible to all drivers who are encouraged to buckle their seat belts, watch their speeds, and put their phones down.
