(Austin, TX) — The first day of the Texas Legislature’s Special Session ended quickly.

The Texas House and Senate held brief sessions Thursday morning before adjourning. Multiple bills were filed in the Senate including legislative funding, bail reform, social media regulations, and a transgender high school athlete ban. The House is referring similar bills to committees and plans to hold hearings over the weekend.

Texas Democrats are promising to hold up as many bills through parliamentary procedures.
