(Fort Worth, TX) — a 14-year-old Fort Worth girl is in the hospital after being attacked by a pit bull on Tuesday afternoon.

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded about 3:30 p.m. to a reported animal bite on Emma Street near Pittsburgh Place, just east of downtown.  The dog reportedly attacked the girl’s face and did serious damage around her nose.  The girl was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center.

Fort Worth Animal Control rounded up the dog, which reportedly is not a pet of the girl’s family.

No arrests have been made in the case.
