(Arlington, TX) —  A 31-year-old is under arrest in connection with the shooting of a North Texas sheriff’s deputy.

Clay County Sheriff Jeff Lyde says Joshua Green was captured following a footchase when he attempted to run across I-20 Wednesday morning in Arlington.  He was apparently hiding out inside a hotel on Scots Legacy when the North Texas Fugitive Task Force found him.

Green is accused of opening fire on deputy Breanton Chitwood during a traffic stop near Wichita Falls on Monday.

Deputy Chitwood has since been released from the hospital and is back on the job
