(Cleburne, Tx) – Jurors in Johnson County have found former Cleburne doctor John Dang guilty of the sexual assault of a child under 17.

The punishment phase of Dang’s trial resumes today. According to the Cleburne Times Review, Dang’s downtown Cleburne medical clinic closed suddenly in April 2018, shortly after the Texas Medical Board suspended his medical license. The former doctor was arrested in February 2019 and has remained in the Johnson County Jail on more than $1.5 million in bonds.

Dang is also facing charges of indecency with a child, theft of property over $300,000 and insurance fraud. Those charges will likely be dealt with in subsequent trials.
