(Fort Worth, TX) —  The on-again, off-again mask mandate in Fort Worth ISD schools is off again.

The mandate was in effect on Monday morning when 84-thousand kids showed up for class.  By lunchtime, Tarrant County’s Second Court of Appeals ordered the district to drop the mandate.  A group of parents has sued the district, claiming Superintendent Kent Scribner is violating Gov. Greg Abbott’s ban on local mask mandates.

The court on Monday ordered Scribner and the Fort Worth ISD to stop enforcing the mask requirement.
