(Bedford, TX) — A man who set off a bomb under a bridge in Bedford is off to federal prison for 46-months.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Nicholas Nelson of Hurst pleaded guilty in June to possession of a destructive device.  The bomb went off in a drainage culvert in April, and a man walking his dog along Forest Ridge Drive narrowly escaped injury.

Prosecutors say Nelson admitted to blowing up the bomb under the bridge as well as building other bombs in his apartment.
