(Fort Worth, TX) — A North Texas state Senate seat may flip to the GOP, if the Legislature approves the first draft of redistricting plans for the upper chamber.
Observers says state Senator Beverly Powell, a Fort Worth Democrat, would have a tough time hanging onto Senate District 10 as the proposed map revises it.
The redistricting plan proposed by Senator Joan Huffman, a Houston Republican, would eliminate Democratic sections of Fort Worth from the district and add more reliably Republican rural areas southwest of the city.
