(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth’s budget for the coming fiscal year includes a property tax rate cut of one-point-five-cents.

City Council approved the nearly two-billion-dollar spending plan on Thursday.  The tax rate cut comes after a seven-percent increase in tax revenue because of rising property values.

The new budget includes funding for two police recruiting classes, ten additional firefighters, and staffing at the new City Hall in the former Pier One building.
