(Bosque County, TX) – The search for a missing Bosque County girl came to an end Saturday when her suspected abductor crashed the car he was driving into another vehicle on a rural Johnson County road.

8-year-old Jessi Lowrey was last seen Friday afternoon at her home in Walnut Springs and later became the subject of an Amber Alert.  The Bosque County Sheriff’s Office reported the girl had been taken by a family member, 34-year-old Randall Anthony Thurman, a known sex offender.  Thurman and the girl were spotted in Hill County Saturday morning and a chase began that went into Johnson County.

As Deputies were in pursuit of Thurman, they say he intentionally veered into the path of an oncoming car, crashing head-on at the intersection of FM 191 and Johnson County Road 302.  Thurman and the driver of the other vehicle were killed.

Deputies found the little girl in the front seat of Thurman’s car, she was alive, but flown to a hospital in unknown condition.
