(Washington, DC) — The rate of illegal immigration at the southern border is slowing, but is still at record numbers.
The Border Patrol says the September numbers show a nine-percent decrease in encounters compared to August. About one-quarter of the migrants caught had at least one prior encounter with the Border Patrol.
September is the last month of the fiscal year, which ends with more than one-point-seven million illegal immigration busts. That’s the most on record.
