Poll: Abbott Leads O’Rourke In New Poll

(Austin, TX) — A new poll shows Gov. Greg Abbott with a 9-point lead over his potential Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke.

The poll of registered voters by UT Austin and the Texas Tribune finds Abbott leading O’Rourke 46 to 37%. Another 10% had no opinion, and 7% said they preferred somebody else.

O’Rourke hasn’t yet announced his anticipated run against the two-term Republican governor.
