(Austin, TX) — Matthew McConaughey took to social media Sunday night to announce he does not want to be the next governor of Texas right now.

The 52-year-old actor said in a recent interview he was seriously considering entering the race and was included in several political polls.

McConaughey said he will continue to work with businesses and foundations dedicated to helping others at this time, but did not rule out a future run for office.
