(Austin, TX) — The Texas Supreme Court is weighing the state’s “Save Chick-fil-A” law.

San Antonio City Council voted in 2019 to deny the chain a concession at the city’s airport.  Council members based their decision on complaints that Chick-fil-A had donated to Christian organizations that opposed same-sex marriage.  The Legislature passed the Republican-backed law, which bans local governments from punishing businesses for their support of a religious organization.

Back-and-forth lawsuits and appeals have brought the case before the state’s high court.
