Two Saved In Overnight Rescue On Lake Granbury

(Granbury, Tx) – A dramatic overnight rescue took place early Monday morning when two people hanging on to a capsized boat were rescued on Lake Granbury.

Around 2am Monday, four Granbury firefighters successfully rescued a 17 and 22 year old who had flipped their canoe in Lake Granbury.  Someone heard their pleas for help and dialed 911.  Firefighters with Granbury Vol Fire Dept posted on Facebook that neither person was wearing a life jacket and clung to the capsized canoe until they were rescued.

North Hood County VFD, Texas EMS, Hood County Sheriff Office , Brazos River Authority Police and Texas Game Warden assisted in the rescue operation.
