(Weatherford, Tx) – Weatherford Police are investigating a fatal crash that led to a brief chase and a woman’s death.

Investigators say it started about 1:30am Wednesday when a 36-year-old woman driving westbound on the Fort Worth Highway near Hudson Oaks, was involved in a collision with a 21-year-old man that appeared to be following her.  The man flagged down help and police say while emergency personnel were attending to the injured woman, he simply faded into the background and then suddenly took off.

A short chase ended at the Parker County Courthouse Square when he crashed into a stone wall.  Once again he tried to run off, this time on foot, but was found and arrested at short time later.

Despite efforts to save her, the unidentified woman died at the scene of the initial accident.  Justice Dean Moore was charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest and for causing the accident that ultimately resulted in the woman’s death.
