(Fort Worth, TX) — School districts in Tarrant County will have in-person classes despite the surge in coronavirus cases caused by the omicron variant.
Education leaders both locally and nationwide say virtual learning isn’t as effective, so they’re working to keep classrooms safe as the pandemic continues. Custodians sanitized Fort Worth ISD campuses on Tuesday in preparation for the return of about 74,000 students today. The district doesn’t have a mandate but strongly encourages wearing masks.
Aledo, Burleson, Cleburne and Stephenville ISD’s are also going back to class today. Mineral Wells students return on Thursday. Granbury and Weatherford ISD’s end their breaks next week.
