(Greenville, TX) — Criminal charges are expected after the SPCA of Texas rescued dozens of animals from a property in Hunt County.
Deputies served a search and seizure warrant on Sunday, and rescuers found 87 animals on the property. About 60 dogs and 11 cats were living in filthy conditions indoors. A dozen more dogs were outside, without access to enough food, water, or shelter. Rescuers found three dead puppies in a trailer.
The live animals are now receiving veterinary care. A civil custody hearing is scheduled for this Friday.
