Fwy Accident Involving Big Rig Injures Two Northlake Police Officers

(Roanoke, TX) — Police are investigating a traffic accident involving an 18-wheeler that injured two Northlake police officers.

The crash happened about 9 a.m. Thursday on I-35W southbound near Earnhardt Way, in the city of Roanoke. The two officers were working the scene of an accident on 114 near Texas Motor Speedway when the big rig ran into their patrol cars and an SUV. Investigators say icy road conditions were a factor.

The officers are identified as 47-year-old Thomas Martinez and 38-year-old Matthew Koeper.
