(Granbury, Tx) – Granbury Police are investigating the deaths of four people, including two children, in what they have described as a murder-suicide.

A news release from Granbury PD says around 2:50 Thursday afternoon, officers went to a home on Kathy Lane for a welfare check where they found the four deceased people.  The victims are identified as 36-year-old Marcus Buchanan, 34-year-old Rita Buchanan, a 13-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Neighbors says the Buchanan’s were new to the community, having just moved to Granbury from Las Vegas about six months ago.

Granbury ISD issued a statement saying the children were students in the district and they have made counselors available to any students and staff affected by the tragedy.

Police said that while they currently believe this to be a murder-suicide, the investigation is still ongoing.
