Texas Primary A Test Of New Election Laws

(San Antonio, TX) — Today’s primary election in Texas is the first since the GOP-led Legislature overhauled the state’s laws.

The new laws require voters to put their driver’s license number or Social Security number on their mail-in ballot application as a ballot security measure.  About one-in-three ballots have been rejected because the numbers didn’t match or weren’t filled in.
