(Austin, TX) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling a deadly West Texas head-on collision, which left multiple college golf team members dead, horrible.

Abbott says his heart is grieving for the six Southwest University students and one staff member who were killed Tuesday night near Andrews.  They were in Texas from New Mexico for a tournament.  Abbott says the DPS is working with local police to investigate the crash.

Two students are hospitalized in critical condition.  The driver of the pickup that crossed over into the path of the golf team’s van, and a 13-year-old passenger, were also killed.
