(Ranger, TX) — A 26-year-old man is under arrest in connection with a series of fires in Ranger.

Police say Robert James set several buildings ablaze last week in the downtown area, including the century old 2nd Baptist Church building.  Investigators do not believe the downtown fires are connected with the other wildfires in Eastland County.  James is accused of 5 counts of arson.

Further details on how the fire was started have not been released as the investigation continues.
