Smoke From Wildfires Cloud North Texas Sky

(Fort Worth, Tx) – The skies of North Texas had a visible brown haze Sunday afternoon as smoke from a Central Texas wildfire blew our direction.

According to the National Weather Service, three fires covering more than 17,000 acres merged in Coryell County.  The fires are known as the Crittenburg Complex.  As of Sunday night, the Texas A&M Forest Service listed it as 0% contained.  Another fire also broke out Sunday in Bosque County, the Bosque River Fire is estimated at a little over 900 acres and 30% contained.

The large Eastland Complex fire to the West  is estimated to have burned more than 54,500 acres and is now 90% contained.  Much of Texas remains under high fire danger today.
