(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Kent Scribner will step down in August.

Scribner had announced in January that he would retire at the end of his contract in 2024.  A special meeting was called on Tuesday for the school board to decide on an earlier departure date for Scribner.  People were lined up to speak out against Scribner because of his support for mask mandates and critical race theory.

He’ll stay with the district until February 2023 as a consultant.
