(Austin, TX) — A severe-weather state sales tax holiday is taking place this weekend.
Texans can buy emergency preparation supplies tax-free from April 23rd through April 25th, midnight to midnight. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar says Texans should save more than a million-dollars in state and local taxes during the holiday.
Tax-free supplies include household batteries, fuel containers, flashlights, hurricane shutters, emergency ladders, and portable generators.
There’s no limit on the number of qualifying items that can be bought.
