(Weatherford, Tx) – One player is off the team and others suspended, following an incident at a Weatherford College Baseball game where the WC pitcher came off the mound and decked an opposing player as he rounded third base.

The incident was caught on video that went viral with more than 4.4 million views in less than 24 hours.  On Thursday, The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference announced it had suspended the two players and several others from both teams after a brawl broke out.  Weatherford pitcher Owen Woodward was given a four-game suspension and North Central Texas College batter Josh Phillips a two-game suspension for taunting.

Woodward’s suspension was not enough for WC, who later issued a statement saying the Sophomore pitcher was no longer with the team.

Both teams were ordered to forfeit Wednesday’s game, however they are scheduled to play each other again this weekend.
