Dallas Mayor Creating Committee To Look At Sports Franchises

(Dallas, TX) — Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson is creating a committee to look at bringing more sports franchises to the city.

Johnson told the City Council today he wants more professional teams to play within city limits like the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. The Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Wings play in Arlington, while FC Dallas plays in Frisco. Johnson said on social media last week he believed Dallas deserves an expanded NFL franchise.

The new Ad Hoc Committee on Professional Sports Recruitment and Retention will look at whether it’s worth trying to bring in new teams.
